A Year in Music!

It has been another fantastic year in music! The dedication shown in the extra-curricular life of the department has been outstanding!

Students in the choir, ukulele club, guitar club, boomwhacker and music tech clubs have worked incredibly hard all year and have delivered in their termly concert performances, impressing large audiences.

GCSE and A Level students have worked hard this year to deliver in their courses as well as taking opportunities to perform regularly as soloists. KS3 lessons have seen the development of new skills in a variety of projects from the blues to film music, iPads to samba kits, gamelan to singing – and students are now enjoying their end of year popular music projects.

The Christmas and Spring Concerts alongside the production of Bugsy Malone, showcased students’ hard work and creativity in all year groups and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your ongoing support of these events. As this is being written, students are working towards the final concert of the year and it promises to be another huge success. look forward to the Summer Concert and to September’s music making!
