Archway Student Seren Stars in CBBC "Got What It Takes"
Hundreds of teenagers across the country auditioned for series 4 of the CBBC show Got What It Takes and Seren in Year 9 was one of only eight performers who made it through to the show.
Seren spent three weeks over the summer in London filming along with her Mum where she did took part in eight different tasks to try and earn a place in the final. The tasks included vlogging, a rap battle, video choreography, writing and performing a song in front of John Newman and a Spanish dance challenge. After a 24 hour public vote Seren made it through to the final, narrowly missing out to the winner Lauren.
Seren learnt lots about the industry and it taught her about what she wants to do when she is older. It was a great experience about getting yourself out there and not worrying about what happens when things go wrong. Professionals have been watching the show and she is hoping that she has done enough to be noticed and offered further opportunities in the future. She has received lots of positive messages from other young people all around the world who have a disability and Seren is proud to be an inspiration to others.
For anyone who missed the show, it is on bbciplayer and is definitely worth a watch!
