Creative Writing Club Success Stories

We’ve continued to have a busy term in Creative Writing Club this year. Our long-running member, and now A Level student, Claire, has continued to receive acknowledgement for her writing.

Claire has been working with writers at Cheltenham Literature Festival, finishing this project with a public speaking of her poem ‘Phoenix’. Claire is currently working with them for a second year. She then also has been published in the international anthology – Planet in Peril by Fly on the Wall Poetry – with her poem ‘A World we Once Had’ being selected and published in this collaborative, empowering anthology all focusing on Climate Change and our planet. Claire then travelled to perform this powerful poem. Her poem ‘After Sunset’ was shortlisted by Lichfield Cathedral along with another shortlisting piece on the Voices blog.

Along with this particularly impressive individual success, other students have submitted entries to the Hunted competition by Young Writers along with others working towards producing their own ghost stories, dystopian fiction and poetry.

Creative Writing club is open to all ages and runs during Monday lunchtimes in AIT.
