Archway School

Greening Up!

Last term saw the introduction of a new School Eco Council with representatives from across the year groups working collectively to make Archway more environmentally sustainable.

The new council has already organised itself into three work groups looking at food, curriculum and waste within the school, and have some great ideas to move forward; so watch this space!

The introduction of recycling in Archway continues with ten new bins for mixed recycling being placed indoors for students to use. It is a small step in the right direction so please encourage your child to use these as much as possible.

We have now recycled more than 25kg of crisp packets since the last summer term with the terra cycle scheme. Many students are using the bins regularly and we hope that recycling will become embedded in the ethos of the school. Remember that you can send in your crisp packets from home too and save even more waste from going to land fill!
