Year 7 Food Club
This term has seen the revival of the Year 7 Food Club, after Covid-19 regulations allowed.
Excited students arrive every Thursday from 3pm to 4pm, ready to put their baking skills to the test! All ingredients are provided and after a quick demonstration, the students enjoy creating a tasty sweet or savoury product, which they can take home and enjoy with their family.
Week 1 was very popular, with the chance to bake, pipe and decorate 6 fancy cupcakes and present them in a professional cupcake box. Viennese Whirls were a challenge in week 2, but certainly went down very well with the students (not sure how many biscuits made it home). They made a nice little gift, presented in a gold polka dot bag, with tie. Over the next 3 weeks, Year 7 will be making a puff pastry pizza tart, fruited teacakes and to finish a “showstopping” summer gateau!
