Living for Sport
During February we welcomed England female rugby international Nolli Waterman to school as part of our Sky Sports Living for Sport programme.
The scheme, running since November, has involved nine year 7 and 8 students who meet twice a week to participate in sport and use the ethos to help enhance the experience of school for students.
Nolli’s visit provided a great reward and insight for both the Living for Sport students and other groups throughout the school. First spending time with the group, Nolli provided an insight into her life as a professional athlete, sharing what inspires her, her dedication to her profession and life experiences we are able to relate to daily.
With a busy day planned Nolli also visited Year 9 English students to discuss leadership qualities before meeting the Year 13s to discuss psychology, nutrition, diet, and other factors of her career then culminating with meeting some of our high achieving sports students and captains, discussing motivation, goal setting, achievement, commitment and desire.
A great experience for the school - we very much look forward to Nolli’s return for the completion of the Living for Sport Scheme.
