Cast of Decent Rogues - Interview and Workshop with Dan Lashbrook the Writer!

On Tuesday 24th November, the cast of The Decent Rogues had an amazing afternoon working directly alongside one of the writers of the show, Dan Lashbrook. A GP from Bath by trade, he arrived at Archway having just come out of the operating theatre! He was so warm and friendly and made the students feel at ease straight away.

The afternoon started with a Q&A where the students got to drill him with all their burning questions about how the musical came about and the details of their characters.

Caleb O’brien was the first brave volunteer to sing a solo in front of him and the confidence he gained in just 20minutes working with Dan was unbelievable—well done Caleb!

After school, the whole cast joined in with the workshop. They performed a number to Dan and then got feedback on how to get it to sound how he had originally intended. We then performed a run of the first three scenes of the show.      Dan picked out a few sections to work on and wowed everyone with his excellent acting ability as well as writing!

Dan was hugely impressed by the behaviour and attitudes of the students as well as their talents. A huge well done to all of the cast members who did Archway proud.

Dan will be returning to Archway in March to watch the show and is encouraging his co-writer and the original cast of the show to come too!
