Archway School

French Exchange

Football supporters were not the only Brits in France this month!!

As the Archway School–College Lucien Sigala exchange completes its 3rd year, it was our students’ turn to stay with their French penfriends in the south west of France.

Students took part in a range of activities both in and out of school all designed to improve their linguistic/language skills and cultural understanding as well as build new friendships.

In addition to the outings with their host families, such as swimming, horse-riding, laser tag, high ropes and tree top adventures and shopping to name but a few, students also visited the highest sand dune in Europe - the Dune de Pyla, took a trip around the beautiful Bay of Arcachon and explored the medieval town of Bergerac.

After a week of sampling local specialities including exquisite chocolates, artisanal ice creams, delightful cakes, luscious cheeses and even snails (miam! miam!) it wasn’t only our suitcases which came home heavier!

     Looking forward to next year!‚Äč
