Each year Stroud District Council, working together with the SGS College bring together more than 60 different employers, universities, colleges and training providers for an Ambitions Day held in November.
The event is focused on Year 9 students, giving them an opportunity to speak directly to local employers and to think about future possibilities for employment, education and training.
All Year 9 Archway students will visit the event during the course of the normal school day and will take park in five different interactive workshops with employers. So that students can get the most from the Ambitions Day we are providing them with the opportunity to identify the workshops in which they are most interested. Each Year 9 student is asked in October to complete a workshop choices form.
Students are briefed by the Careers Department in school assembly and by their tutors on the different employment sectors represented at the Ambitions Day. Parents are requested to talk to their children about this event, discuss with them what different sectors they may want to think about attending and to ensure the form is returned to school by the mid-October deadline.
